Game Lands a film shooting in the area for the last several weeks has completed principle photography. The film will head back to New York City for Post Production work. The producers were so pleased by the local cooperation and willingness to help them complete their project, they are planning the first screening to be held locally in appreciation for all of the help. "We would not have been able to complete this project without all of the local support. There were times the production could have stalled but the local community pitched in and keep the project moving" said Director Abhish Raghavan. Some of the locations that films are currently looking for include secluded cabins, warehouses to build sets, abandoned resorts, high end vacation properties, small general stores, circa 1940's telephone office, circa 1940's living room, and a mobile trailer in disrepair.
When allowing a film to use your property it is important to make sure the production has proper insurance in place and you request a certificate of insurance listing the property owner as an additional insured. Location fees vary depending on the production budget and type of film.
Best of USA Marketing held and filmed their recent war game, "Clash of the Wolverines" in Scranton, PA. This one day event hired local services and locations. Earlier this year, "Red Storm East" returned to the region for a three day event that featured retired Russian and U.S. military personnel.

A local screenwriter is looking for actors to do a reading of his script on October 21st. Main characters include Mother (30 something), Father (30 something), Son (mid teens), Best friend (30 something - biker). The film plans to shoot Fall of 2014. The reading is scheduled for Monday, 4:00 - 6:00 pm, October 21st in Honesdale, PA.
Currently, there are three independent films scheduled to shoot in the region in the next two weeks. One of the short films features an Academy Award Winning Director of Photography. All three projects will shoot throughout the area utilizing locations, lodging and local services.
